The Danish designer Simon Legald graduated from the Art Academy’s Design School in the summer of 2012. His work consists of both small and large products, which are often created at the crossroads between craft and industry.In his designs, Simon Legald uses techniques that are necessary in the design and that are part of the expression, by highlighting them visually rather than hiding them.

“The honesty of a design makes it understandable and helps to describe the product’s functionality. If you understand the product, it needs no explanation. The essence of my design is that it is used. In addition to the functional aspect, my design must therefore also satisfy the psychological and aesthetic needs. Simplicity makes a product believable and describes it best. In my designs, therefore, I try not to add unnecessary details. The simplicity of my design can be found in the way I highlight functional elements instead of hiding them. It gives the product a simple and honest expression.”
