Iris Casablanca Dutch Iris Bulbs

‘Casablanca’ Dutch iris blooms in late spring, showcasing pure white flowers with a delicate yellow eye on sturdy stems 18 to 24 inches tall. Above a clump of grassy foliage, these orchid-like blooms resemble birds in flight, creating a whimsical, airy feel. Long-lasting and florist-quality, they add elegance to bouquets and arrangements.

An Iris x hollandica variety, ‘Casablanca’ is hardy in Zones 5-9 and thrives as a perennial, returning for years and naturalizing beautifully in beds and borders. For colder climates, bulbs can be lifted and stored over winter. Plant in groupings of 15 bulbs per square foot for maximum visual impact or grow in decorative pots. Bulbs can also be forced for indoor enjoyment.

‘Casablanca’ iris thrives in sunny areas with rich, well-draining soil. Amend clay or sandy soils with organic matter like peat moss to ensure optimal conditions. Water regularly and thoroughly during active growth, using mulch to retain moisture and protect bulbs. Fertilize twice yearly, remove faded blooms promptly, and cut back foliage only after it yellows naturally. Deer and rabbit resistant, it’s an easy-care favorite.

Plant ‘Casablanca’ iris bulbs in fall for warmer Zones or after frost in cooler regions. Space bulbs 4 to 6 inches apart and plant 4 to 6 inches deep for stunning spring displays.
