Petite Late 19th Century French Chandelier w/ Crystal Pendants – 23″ x 15″

A charming and opulently adorned petite late 19th century French cage chandelier attributed to Baccarat, crafted in forged iron retaining its deep green paint with gilt foliate decoration to the arms and bobeches. Abundant tiered, cascading faceted crystal drops and rosettes create a rich, sparkling effect while preserving an airy elegance. Four arms, later electrified and fitted with faux candle sleeves, reflect an early 20th century conversion. The chandelier shows a pleasing timeworn patina, light nicks to a few prisms, gentle rubbing to the gilding, and oxidation to the iron, together with a harmonious mix of original and later drops.

Gracefully scaled, it offers a luminous and refined presence ideal for intimate interiors. Perfect suspended in an entry, powder room, or above a small dining table, this chandelier brings a soft shimmer and romantic silhouette. Pair it with limestone, painted boiserie, or linen upholstery to heighten the play of light and texture, allowing the crystal to sparkle while the aged iron and gilding introduce depth and authenticity.
